Taylor’s First Christmas

We spent 10 days in Connecticut with my parents over Christmas. We drove up the night before the big snow storm hit the East Coast. Pennsylvania got dumped on. My inlaws got more than two feet of snow. We got about 8-10 inches in Ashford bringing Taylor his first big snow…

We were very glad we drove up the night before. Otherwise we would have been stuck in PA with no food in the fridge for a couple of days.

We did a lot of different things while we were in New England. We cheered for the Patriots. Even Taylor got excited.

We gave Taylor a bath in the kitchen sink. As always he loved his bath. He has since transitioned to the big tub and home. He is such a water baby.

Gramzee put him in a Santa hat. Here he is hamming it up for the camera.

He also took some flying lessons with Gramzee.

He also became Bugs Bunny…. “What’s up Doc?” Nom, Nom, Nom. At one point he had both carrots in has hands. It was pretty entertaining.

We also went up to Josh’s grandparents house in Beverly, MA just north of Boston. He got to meet some new friends. Here he is with his Great Aunt Pat. He was being quite a flirt.

Auntie Jane and Aunt Pat brought their dog Molly and Taylor got lots of puppy kisses. He responded very well to all of the doggie attention.

All of that flirting can tire a little guy out. He took a nice long snooze.

I gave Taylor a laundry basket to play with for a little while.

He also got to spend some time with his Great Grandma Cookie…oh yeah and a spoon. He has one of those most of the time now.

Taylor even helped Gramzee bake me a birthday cake.

We had a great holiday and are looking forward to next Christmas when Taylor understands the meaning of presents!

More Milestones

Taylor has been doing a lot of growing lately. I think he grows and inch every day! He is about 13.5lbs (almost doubling his birth weight) with cute thunder thighs and a double chin.

He has reached two wonderful milestones in the past week. He laughed for the first time on Friday when I was changing him. It caught me off guard at first but it is a wonderful sound. Gramzee and Gramps got to experience it too when they came down on Saturday. He just lit up with smiles and a lot of laughs. Unfortunately we didn’t get the camera out for that one. But I promise to catch his laughter and share it with you all.

His second milestone he reached on Monday. He rolled over from his tummy to his back not just once but three times! It was very exciting. Josh and I were busy cooking dinner and Taylor was on his blanket in the dining room having some tummy time. The next time I looked over he was on his back! So we missed seeing it the first time he did it. About 10 minutes later I was sitting and talking to him and he did it again! This time Josh missed it. So I decided to set up the video camera to see if I could capture it again. It’s not great footage but it gives you the idea…

5 Generations

Wow! I’ve really fallen behind on posting to the blog. Bad Amy! There have been a lot of exciting things happening so I’ll post a couple of posts over the next few days to bring you all up to speed.

Last week we (Taylor, Josh, and I) took a trip up to CT/MA/RI to do the family tour. Taylor got to meet a lot of people:

From the Feierman/Frost Side: Nana & Grampy (Granna was there too)

From the Roy/Carlon Side: Great Grammy Cookie, Great Aunt Ann, Great Aunt Carolyn, Great Aunt Bobo, Cousins Kara & Ada, Great Great Aunt Pat, Great Great Uncle Paul, Great Great Uncle Gordon, Great Great Aunt Carol, Mor-Mor-Far (?), Great Great Grandma Carlson. (Gramzee, Gramps and Tante were there too)

We didn’t meet everyone all at once. That would have been slightly overwhelming for everyone. Instead we spread it out over 4 days and met small groups on each day.

While all of the relatives are special to Taylor’s life only one helps complete 5 living generations – Great Great Grandma Carlson (mormors farmor in Swedish – I think). She is my mother’s father’s mother. She is 105 years old and will be 106 coming up on August 17. She was very excited to meet Taylor. Below is a picture of the 5 generations:

Of course Taylor won’t remember this meeting, but we have the picture as proof. Maybe he’ll write about it as a 5th grade history project.

Bath Time with Daddy

Today Daddy gave me a bath. He’s never given me one before. I wanted to show him how much I love my bath. I’m a water baby! I even love to splash.

My Gramzee says that Mommy used to scream when she took baths at my age. I don’t know how anyone could not like the water. I’m more like my Tante. She was the one who taught my Mommy how to splash! Mommy says she’ll find a picture of her bath time growing up to share on the blog to. Maybe Gramps can send some along.

Gramzee & Gramps came to visit

My Gramzee & Gramps came to visit me for the weekend. Mommy & Daddy had to go to a wedding so I got Gramzee and Gramps all to myself. We had a lot of fun together. Gramps put together a video of our fun.

I can’t wait to go and visit them in a couple of weeks. I’ll get to go on my first long car trip and hang out in Gramzee and Gramps world. It’ll be so much fun!

Today Gramsy and Gramps came for a visit from Connecticut, and they even brought along my Tante Karen! I was so excited that I accidentally may have gotten her a little wet, but she didn’t seem to mind. All these people giving me attention is a little overwhelming!
