Taylor is two and a half months old. He smiles a lot and enjoys “talking”, and looking at the world around him. We (the parents) have been able to go out for long stretches on two separate occasions. The first was on the weekend of June 20th. We went to both Kevin & Christine’s rehearsal dinner (Friday Night) and the wedding (Saturday Night) without Taylor. That was the first time Taylor was without either of his parents for more than two hours. He stayed at home and hung out with Gramzee and Gramps (my parents came down because Josh’s parents were invited to the wedding also) and they all had a wonderful time. I think that was the hardest for me, with it being the first time I was away from him for more than one feeding.

This past Saturday Taylor went to Granna and Grampy’s house for a few hours while Mommy & Daddy went to see Harry Potter and out to dinner with friends (Lindsay, Glen & Candace). Granna said that he was very chatty. He is becoming quite the “talker”.

It is nice to be able to have wonderful people who will drop almost anything for a few moments with our little guy. It’s also great for the parents to get out of the house and talk like adults once and a while

Wow! I’ve really fallen behind on posting to the blog. Bad Amy! There have been a lot of exciting things happening so I’ll post a couple of posts over the next few days to bring you all up to speed.

Last week we (Taylor, Josh, and I) took a trip up to CT/MA/RI to do the family tour. Taylor got to meet a lot of people:

From the Feierman/Frost Side: Nana & Grampy (Granna was there too)

From the Roy/Carlon Side: Great Grammy Cookie, Great Aunt Ann, Great Aunt Carolyn, Great Aunt Bobo, Cousins Kara & Ada, Great Great Aunt Pat, Great Great Uncle Paul, Great Great Uncle Gordon, Great Great Aunt Carol, Mor-Mor-Far (?), Great Great Grandma Carlson. (Gramzee, Gramps and Tante were there too)

We didn’t meet everyone all at once. That would have been slightly overwhelming for everyone. Instead we spread it out over 4 days and met small groups on each day.

While all of the relatives are special to Taylor’s life only one helps complete 5 living generations – Great Great Grandma Carlson (mormors farmor in Swedish – I think). She is my mother’s father’s mother. She is 105 years old and will be 106 coming up on August 17. She was very excited to meet Taylor. Below is a picture of the 5 generations:

Top Row (l-r) Arnold Carlson (Mor-Far to me), Marji Roy (my Mom)

Bottom Row (l-r) Elsa Carlson (Grandma Carlson to me), Taylor & Me

Of course Taylor won’t remember this meeting, but we have the picture as proof. Maybe he’ll write about it as a 5th grade history project.

Amy

Today I went to the doctor for my one month visit. Yes, that’s right, tomorrow I will be one month old. Wow, doesn’t time fly!

I slept all the way to the doctor’s office and only started to cry when Mommy had to undress me to weigh me. I gained 8oz since my last visit so I weighed in at just over 8.5 lbs. That means I gained just over one ounce a day over the past week. I guess my Mommy is feeding me well.

I’m not a big fan of going to the doctor. But today was one of my least favorite visits because I had to get a shot! I did not like it at all. It really hurt and now my leg is sore. But Mommy gave me some great grape-flavored Tylonal which made me feel better. It tasted really good too. But Mommy’s milk still tastes better.

Today Granna also came to visit so I got to spend some quality time with her. That was much better than going to the doctor.

And I ended the day hanging out with Daddy…or sleeping with Daddy. It’s been a long day!
