I’m ONE! I’m a BIG boy now!

Today I am 1 year and 3 days old. This time last year I was spending my first full day home from the hospital. I didn’t do much more than eat and sleep in those days. Now I’m a very active little guy. I turbo crawl everywhere. I’ve started pulling up on everything…including the stairs. I’m not quite ready to start cruising but it’s coming!

I really want to share my birthday cake video with you. Last Saturday everyone came to celebrate my birthday at my house. Mommy made me a monkey cake!! It was yummy….and lots of fun to play with!

He’s growing too up fast!!!!

My little baby is not really a baby anymore. He’s almost a toddler! He is changing so much every day and this week is no different. Last week he started crawling on hands and knees and got his first tooth (bottom right) to pulling up on everything and getting a second tooth (bottom left) this week.

I have expanded his free roam area to include both the dining room and the living room. He has just started to find the buttons on the TV so we’ll have to find a way to gate that off soon. He also loves empty diaper boxes. They are a perfect height for him to pull up on. Yesterday he climbed on top of one of the boxes and proceeded to get onto the chair next to it…all before I even noticed. He’s a quick little guy.

Josh likes to spend time with the little guy in the evenings and on weekends creating new games. Here are a few of the newest:

Taylor is also making excellent progress with his helmet. We are going to the orthodist today to get his measurments checked again but he was making great progress at his 6 week appt. His PT is also going well. We are now trying to correct the things he taught himself when his neck was still tight. When he rolls over he uses his legs instead of his torso and neck and he tends to sit shifted into his right hip.

In almost no time we’ll be celebrating his birthday! I can’t believe it’s been almost a year already. Time goes way too fast!

Hi Everyone! It’s me, Taylor. The cute one you come to read this blog about. I am 5 months and 2 weeks old. My favorite things are going for walks with Mommy (so I can sleep), bouncing in my baby casino, grabbing on to my toes and, as of today, rolling over from my back to my tummy!!! Go me!

Another Milestone or two!

Today was a big day for Taylor. When I went to the store this morning he decided to roll over from his back to his stomach. Josh got to see that one and we haven’t been able to catch it on video. He did it once this afternoon but I wasn’t watching but when I looked up he as on his tummy halfway off his blanket. Exciting!

We also introduced him to his first solid food today. He seemed to enjoy it.

More Milestones

Taylor has been doing a lot of growing lately. I think he grows and inch every day! He is about 13.5lbs (almost doubling his birth weight) with cute thunder thighs and a double chin.

He has reached two wonderful milestones in the past week. He laughed for the first time on Friday when I was changing him. It caught me off guard at first but it is a wonderful sound. Gramzee and Gramps got to experience it too when they came down on Saturday. He just lit up with smiles and a lot of laughs. Unfortunately we didn’t get the camera out for that one. But I promise to catch his laughter and share it with you all.

His second milestone he reached on Monday. He rolled over from his tummy to his back not just once but three times! It was very exciting. Josh and I were busy cooking dinner and Taylor was on his blanket in the dining room having some tummy time. The next time I looked over he was on his back! So we missed seeing it the first time he did it. About 10 minutes later I was sitting and talking to him and he did it again! This time Josh missed it. So I decided to set up the video camera to see if I could capture it again. It’s not great footage but it gives you the idea…

Always Growing

Taylor will be 3 months old tomorrow. Wow where has the time gone?!?! My Mom asked me to put together a few comparison shots to show how much he’s grown. When Taylor was 3 days old my Mom took a series of pictures of Taylor with a stuffed monkey to show how tiny he was.

Now jump ahead 3 months and this is what you get. At the rate he’s going he’ll be six feet tall by January! Well, not really but it seems that way.

I love mobiles! Look and my chunky thighs!

One of Taylor’s newest feats is holding his head up during tummy time. He always has a very focused look when he’s on his tummy and he can’t multi-task (aka sucking on his binky or smiling) when he’s holding his head up.

Well, this isn’t a milestone the doctor is looking for (at least not directly) but it sure says, “Hey Mommy, I’m growing – a lot!”. In the next couple of days Taylor will be graduating from newborn diapers into Size 1. I’m sure it doesn’t seem like much but it means that Taylor is fast approaching 10lbs! He’s getting to be such a big boy – see for yourself…
